50 Cent To Help Raise Awareness For LGBT Youth Homelessness During Benefit Concert

Queens, New York rapper 50 Cent will serve as one of a handful of artists who will perform at the annual Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home For The Holidays benefit concert later this year.

Each year, the concert is held to raise money and spread awareness for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth homelessness.

In addition to 50 Cent, other artists slated to perform at the concert include Salt-N-Pepa, Emily West, Liv Warfield, and the Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines.

"For the fourth year in a row, Home For The Holidays will feature an amazing night of performances in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth experiencing homelessness," Lauper said in a statement, according to "I am astounded by the artists who continue to give of their time and talent each and every year and I am so excited by the line-up who are joining us in December. The concert plays such an important role in supporting the True Colors Fund's work to ensure that no young person is homeless again because of their sexual orientation or gender identity."

The Home For The Holidays benefit concert will take place on December 6 at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. The event will be hosted by Rosie O’Donnell and transgender actress Laverne Cox.

50 Cent’s participation in the Home For The Holidays benefit concert doesn’t serve as the first time the G-Unit helmsman has supported LGBT youth. Late last year, it was announced that 50 would serve as a mentor to a transgender teen on SundanceTV’s “Dream School.”
